The Cleveland Tree Coalition is a collaborative group of public, private, and community stakeholders that have partnered with the City of Cleveland to rebuild our urban forest. The coalition is striving to create a healthy, vibrant, sustainable, and equitable urban forest by working collaboratively to implement the Cleveland Tree Plan. Together, we’re making Cleveland the Forest City once again.

Samira Malone, Director
As Director of the Cleveland Tree Coalition, Samira Malone is working to raise awareness around the critical need for a robust tree canopy in Cleveland and to generate financial support for the work of the Coalition. Samira coordinates with the CTC Executive Committee and Member organizations to implement the Cleveland Tree Plan.
Most recently Samira was the Neighborhood Planning Manager for MidTown Cleveland, Inc. where she was responsible for leading MidTown’s tree plan from concept to implementation, helping to develop neighborhood parks and green space, executing placemaking and public art projects, and assisting in the facilitation of MidTown’s Neighborhood Vision Plan. Prior to that, she was a Cleveland Foundation Public Service Fellow at MidTown.
Samira has her Master’s degree in urban planning and development and her Bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning from Cleveland State University. She is also a proud graduate of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
Samira lives in Cleveland and is active in numerous community organizations. When she has free time she loves traveling, spending time in the Cleveland Metro Parks, exercising, and visiting with family and friends.
