Cleveland Tree Ambassadors
Join a neighborhood network and care for our urban forest!
Who are the Cleveland Tree Ambassadors?
Cleveland Tree Ambassadors are trained volunteers and community members supporting tree care in our communities. Many neighborhoods in Cleveland have a lead organization or resident who coordinates ambassadors.
While neighborhood models may vary, there are a few key steps you can take to get started:
Contact the lead organization or person in your neighborhood.
If nothing exists, contact the Cleveland Tree Coalition to get started.
Get connected to regular communications.
Sign up to get on our email list.
Register for Tree Steward Training through Western Reserve Land Conservancy.
Work with your lead to deliver vital maintenance to young trees in your neighborhood.
Attend CTC meetings to meet with like-minded organizations and advocates.
Why we need you?
The urban forest in Greater Cleveland is vast and it needs our help. There is no single organization or person who is responsible for its health. It is important to work together and coordinate our efforts. Cleveland Tree Ambassadors are vital to grow and maintain a healthy canopy.
Expectations:
Cleveland Tree Ambassadors can expect to volunteer at least twice per month during the growing season, from April to November. Each community has a leader that organizes and communicates with ambassadors. The following tasks are common for tree ambassadors:
