CTC Grant Program

Planting and maintaining new trees is one of the core pillars of work at the Cleveland Tree Coalition. Each year, we aim to support as many plantings as possible. We specifically aim to plant trees in areas with low tree canopy and environmental justice inequities. There are multiple ways we support tree plantings. We are currently looking to fund:

  • Community-based tree planting and maintenance projects like:

    • Large-scale plantings on private properties like businesses, churches, and schools

    • Residential planting projects

    • Public park and ROW plantings

    • Vacant lot plantings and “no-mow” pilot projects

  • Mature tree maintenance

  • Residential tree giveaways

  • Education and engagement projects

Current Opportunities:

The current funding cycle is closed. Please check back for updates.

  • Conservancy for CVNP

  • Doan Brook Watershed Partnership

  • Downtown Cleveland, Inc.

  • Food Strong

  • Friends of Berry Park

Cleveland Tree Coalition Grants aim to strategically support projects in areas with low canopy. We recommend using the American Forests Tree Equity Score Map to identify project areas that score lowest in both Tree Equity Score and Canopy Cover.
